Dogs’ Reaction to Garden Time Is a Firm ‘Thanks, but No Thanks’

These dogs seem to have made one thing very clear: having access to a garden does not mean they actually want to spend time in it. A funny video shows the dogs being encouraged to head outside, only for one of them to make a very different choice. The pup appears far more interested in staying indoors with his mom.

Dogs would rather stay inside with Mom than enjoy the garden

The video begins with a woman opening the garden door while one of the dogs stands nearby. She eventually helps one dog through the doorway as another pup watches from inside. However, the reluctant dog seems more interested in staying close to his human than exploring the backyard. He later stands near the window and looks toward the garden, as if he has decided that watching from a safe distance is enough. The dogs’ breeds are not identified in the post or profile, although the pups shown have some distinctly Northern spitz-like features.

The playful text on the video says, “That’s great that you have a garden! The dogs must be happy!” However, the footage tells a different story. The dogs seem to enjoy their indoor life much more than spending time in the garden. The video comes from the Instagram account @behamstulakem, whose profile name translates to “Running with Wanderers.” The account’s bio describes the creator as a dog mom to five dogs and says she helps a cat as well.

The clip quickly brought out jokes from viewers who could relate to the dogs’ decision to stay home. “This new generation just wants to stay home, watch TV, and play online games! No more playing in the streets, huh” one user wrote. Another called the dog “smart.” One viewer joked, “Nope, I don’t wanna go outside.” Another summed up the dog’s personality with two words: “Bro is an introvert.”
