Puppy Pancake Breakfast: A Paw-licious Affair

In a unique blend of gastronomy and pet-love, a local Calgary pet bakery hosted a special event this Sunday – a free puppy pancake breakfast. The event took place in Bowness and was not just a tribute to man’s best friend, but also an opportunity to raise funds for a pet rescue organization, simultaneously expressing gratitude to their loyal customers.

The organizer, BonA-Pet-Treat! Pet Store & Bakery, a Calgary-based enterprise known for its dedication to all-natural pet food, supplements, and accessories, saw a tail-wagging turnout of dogs enthusiastic to get a taste of the special puppy pancakes.

10th Annual Puppy Pancake Breakfast: A Tribute to the Community

“We’re hosting our 10th annual Puppy Pancake breakfast,” Emil Chow, the company’s market manager, proudly announced. “We’re supporting Fur-Ever Homes animal charity today.”

This fundraising tradition dates back to 2013 when it was first initiated as a heartwarming response to the floods. The aim was to show gratitude for the unity and support that the city and the community displayed during the challenging times. Chow emphasized, “Now every one came together and we’re just raising money and having a good time.”

For those curious about the composition of these specialty pancakes, Chow assured that they were completely human-friendly. “We don’t add any preservatives; there’s no sugar or salt or anything in there,” he stated.

The celebratory event was not limited to just pancakes. Free puppy pancakes, complete with a variety of toppings, raffle prizes, and even an on-site caricaturist, were part of the fun-filled day, which continued until 2 p.m. at 5111 Bowness Road N.W.
