Pet Cat Returns Home ‘Traumatized’ with Claws Clipped by ‘Cruel’ Stranger
Heartbreaking Incident Shocks Local Community
A shocking incident in Loughborough has left pet owners and animal lovers in disbelief. Kusha, a lively and energetic two-year-old grey, and white cat, returned home in a “traumatized” state after being missing overnight. What was even more horrifying was the discovery that all of her claws had been clipped off up to her skin.

Deliberate Cruelty Towards Innocent Animals
The incident, which occurred on Wednesday night, July 26, has left Kusha’s owner, Peter Vasil, 35, deeply disturbed. He is the son-in-law of the cat’s owner and believes that Kusha was deliberately targeted by a cruel stranger. The attack was so severe that Kusha’s fur on her paws was also left damaged, indicating the level of force used.
A Traumatized Cat
When Kusha finally returned home the next morning, she was clearly in distress and fear. Peter shared, “Kusha didn’t come home, but that’s normal because she goes out a lot, but when she came back in the morning, she was scared and not herself. All of her nails on all four paws have been pulled or clipped.”
Although Kusha is not in pain anymore, she is deeply traumatized by the experience and has not ventured outside the house since. Her ability to climb or defend herself has been severely affected, leaving her vulnerable and frightened.
Appeal for Information
Peter suspects that it would have taken at least two people to hold Kusha down and commit such a brutal act. He believes the incident occurred in the Cumberland Estate area and is urging anyone with information about the incident or who may have seen Kusha on Wednesday night to come forward. He can be reached via email at [email protected]. Additionally, Peter intends to report the incident to the RSPCA to seek justice for Kusha and to ensure that such cruelty is not repeated.
Support and Compassion Needed
This harrowing incident serves as a reminder of the importance of treating animals with kindness and respect. The local community is coming together to support Kusha and her owner during this difficult time. Animal cruelty is a serious offense, and it is vital that those responsible for this heinous act are brought to justice.
If you have any information that could help in this case, please get in touch with Peter immediately. Together, we can work towards creating a safer environment for our beloved pets.
