Holly was all set to welcome dad home… right until she realized he’d brought somebody else’s scent with him. An entertaining Instagram post from @hollythebluestaffy shows us the sensitive pup conducting a thorough investigation of her owner’s hands and clothes. Her tail keeps wagging, but that look on her face says she’s got some serious concerns.
One sniff turns into another, then another, until Holly seems convinced she’s uncovered something she doesn’t like. If looks could ask questions, this sweet yet suspicious Staffy would definitely have a few.
Dog waits for human and gets upset when he comes home smelling like another dog
The clip begins with Holly standing by the front door while dad films her. He’s only just taken off his shoes when she starts carefully sniffing his hand, trying to gather every last detail about the mysterious canine she’s certain he’s been spending time with.
She doesn’t stop at his hand, either. Holly moves on to his trousers, then even his socks, making absolutely sure she hasn’t missed anything.
That’s when Holly makes her feelings crystal clear. Holly slowly turns around, walks right past the couch she would normally jump onto to greet him, and heads straight for her bed instead. She is definitely sulking as she walks away and flops onto her bed.
Dad follows behind, laughing as he tells her, “Don’t be dramatic,” but Holly answers with one long look, a lip smack, and the kind of expression that says she’s not ready to discuss it just yet.
Dad quickly switches to apology mode, offering head pats and an “I’m sorry,” but Holly isn’t ready to let him off that easily. The adorable clip has already picked up around 2,000 likes in its first day, with viewers convinced Holly’s expression deserved an award.
One person joked that she was thinking, “I have a lot of questions. Like, how dare you?” while another wondered if she simply wished the mystery dog had come home too. Plenty of fellow owners laughed because their own pups do exactly the same thing. Apparently, coming home smelling like another dog is enough to leave even the sweetest dog upset for a little while.
