There is no mistaking the affection between this toddler and his neighbor’s dog. The little boy has apparently become so fond of his furry friend that he looks for him around the neighborhood and treats every visit like time spent with his own pet. A video shared by his mom captures one such moment, including plenty of kisses from the dog and a sweet confession from the toddler.

Toddler gets the sweetest best friend next door, treating neighbor’s dog like he’s his own

A video shared by @ivyonnacorinne has captured the adorable relationship between a toddler and the dog who lives next door. The clip begins with the toddler standing next to the dog, who is sitting on a couch, as his mom walks into the room and discovers the two of them together.

The moment is made even funnier by the text displayed over the video: “Nobody tells my toddler the neighbor’s dog isn’t actually his.” His mom then asks the little boy what he is doing. He responds with a slightly guilty smile, looking as though his mom just caught him doing something he probably should not be doing.

The dog, however, appears completely happy to have the toddler around. While the little boy interacts with him, the dog leans in and showers him with kisses. The toddler seems equally comfortable, happily staying close to his furry friend while his mom continues to question him.

She eventually asks, “Who did you bring home?” The toddler’s response sums up how he feels about the dog. He tells her that he loves him, seemingly making no distinction between a neighbor’s pet and a dog that belongs in his own family.

His mom shared even more about their relationship in the caption, explaining that the toddler said, “mom I very love him.” She also revealed that he regularly calls out for the dog when he is at the fence and looks for him through the windows. It appears the toddler has made it a regular part of his day to keep track of his favorite neighbor, eagerly looking for any chance to see him.
