For more than two months, Wally survived in a Walmart parking lot, surrounded by passing cars, unfamiliar faces, and the constant noise of people coming and going. The frightened stray dog kept his distance whenever anyone tried to approach, relying on caution to protect himself in a world he did not yet trust. By day 70, Jasmine sensed that Wally was finally ready. She set the trap and waited, hoping that weeks of careful conditioning had given him enough confidence to step inside once more. Then, at 5:03 a.m., the notification she had been waiting more than two months to receive finally arrived. Wally had been caught safely.
The rescue marked the end of his lonely days in the parking lot, but it also became the beginning of something much bigger. Jasmine officially adopted Wally, giving the once-wary stray a permanent home and a family of his own.
