Nilla has three toddlers in her face, one very amused mom behind the camera, and a growing list of complaints. The mixed-breed dog is sitting on the kids’ cushion fort when the little ones start reaching toward her, trying to boop her nose and get a reaction. Nilla barks back, and they keep going.
In the video, another little hand reaches over. Nilla gets even more vocal, and mom starts laughing. That is when Nilla turns around and gives her the look. The dog seems less interested in the kids at that point and much more interested in holding mom responsible for the whole situation.
Nilla’s owner jokes that three toddlers have left the dog blaming her
The video by @a_zebron28 begins with Nilla already looking a little put-upon. She is sitting with the toddlers on their cushion fort while one little girl reaches over and tries to boop her nose. Another child gets close to her. Nilla barks, but the kids keep having fun. And she barks again.
More little hands reach toward her, and Nilla gets increasingly mouthy about the situation. Her owner is filming from behind her, laughing as Nilla tries to make it clear that she has had enough of this particular game. Then Nilla turns around. She looks straight at mom. It’s a very accusatory look. “Don’t look at me,” Mom tells her, still laughing. Nilla keeps staring. “I didn’t do anything,” mom tells her.
That does not appear to settle the matter. Nilla grumbles, turns back toward the kids, and soon the little girl is reaching for her nose again. This time, Nilla leans right back toward her, getting in her face in return. Mom laughs even harder.
The video has picked up more than 63,000 likes, and viewers immediately understood Nilla’s side-eye. One person imagined her thinking, “Wait a dang minute, these kids came from YOU!” Another wrote, “Nilla said get your kids lady!” Someone else loved the pause before Nilla turned around, seemingly wondering where the three toddlers had come from.
Nilla may be perfectly comfortable around the toddlers, but she clearly has opinions about being teased. And when mom starts laughing instead of stepping in, there is only one reasonable person left to blame.
