A one-year-old bully named Buck has two beds inside his kennel, but the Buck rescue dog keeps choosing the floor beside the gate. The rescue dog stays there to remain close to people passing by, seemingly hoping somebody will notice him. In a touching Instagram reel, the pup quietly watches the walkway after another day without adoption visits. His rescuers say the dog waits for adoption after being saved from a county shelter in September.
Buck stays near passing visitors despite having two beds in his kennel
Irene to the Rescue shared the reel after rescuing him in September. He now waits in West Palm Beach, Florida, where people pass his kennel. Despite having two beds, Buck, the rescue dog, chooses the spot nearest the gate. The account says the dog waits for adoption while hoping a visitor finally stops and sees him.
The reel opens with him curled beside the bars. On-screen text reads, “Another day over, 0 adoption visits.” He stays tucked against the gate instead of moving toward either bed. Then the message changes to, “But it’s ok.” The final shot adds hope with, “I’m sure someone will come tomorrow.”
He weighs 35 pounds and is described as a compact low-rider. His left paw looks different, possibly from development before birth or an old injury. However, it is healed and reportedly does not affect how he gets around. He is described as silly, confident, and adventurous. The shelter offers a foster-to-adopt option for up to 14 days.
Viewers quickly rallied around him. One wrote, “Put bed where he lays!!! We can foster if needed just need help with food.” Others added, “I hope buck finds a home!” and “Lord I pray this innocent baby is adopted into a safe and loving forever home.” Another wished, “What a cutie may he find the best most loving home with a fulfilling life a family that keeps him forever and keeps him safe and loved.” One final comment read, “Oh Buck, you deserve so much more.”
