Urgent Appeal: Save Harley Davidson, the American Staffie from Unjust Euthanasia

Overcrowding in Shelters: The Harsh Reality for Unwanted Pets

Welcome to the world of Harley Davidson, a friendly, brown-brindle American Staffie whose fate has taken an unfortunate turn. Set to face euthanasia on Monday, Harley’s life hangs in the balance, as the Animal Care Services in San Antonio grapples with overcrowding. Tragically, the older residents who have spent the most time in the shelter top the euthanasia list.

This sad fate falls upon Harley not because he’s a difficult or aggressive dog, but simply because he was unwanted by his family. For the past six days, since Harley Davidson was brought to the shelter as a stray, his family has made no inquiries about their lost pet.

Meet Harley Davidson: A Loyal Friend Looking for a Second Chance

At nine years old, Harley Davidson is a mature dog but still has many good years ahead of him. He’s been neutered and weighs in at a healthy 54 pounds. Despite the impending threat, Harley holds onto his friendly demeanor and dreams of a loving home where he can continue his doggy adventures.

Harley’s details are as follows:

  • HARLEY DAVIDSON/#A679420

  • Weighs 54 pounds
  • Heartworm-positive, but easily treatable
  • American Staffie breed
