Golden Retrievers Don’t Rush Toddler Holding the Ball, Just Watch Him Walk Away With It

Last Updated on July 30, 2026 by Fumipets

Some dogs refuse to give up their favorite toy. These two Golden Retrievers, however, had something far more important on their minds, making sure their little human felt loved. A video shared online captured a quiet moment between a toddler named Tutu and the family’s two Golden Retrievers. Instead of chasing after the ball in the child’s hands, the gentle dogs patiently stayed by his side, offering cuddles and affection that quickly won over viewers.

Golden Retrievers let toddler keep the ball and it’s the perfect kind of love

The video begins with Tutu standing in the backyard, holding a green ball tightly against his chest, while one of the Golden Retrievers sits calmly in front of him. Instead of trying to take the toy, the dog gently leans forward and touches the toddler’s forehead with his nose. Tutu hugs the dog’s muzzle with his tiny arms, and the patient Golden Retriever stays completely still, enjoying the affection. The little boy then turns his attention back to the ball, but the dog still doesn’t try to take it from him.

Moments later, the family’s second Golden Retriever walks into the frame, curious about the interaction. The first dog gives the ball a quick sniff before sitting back, leaving it entirely in the toddler’s hands. Both dogs quietly gather around Tutu, content to spend time with him. The youngster then reaches over to pet the second Golden Retriever on the head, prompting the dog to close its eyes in obvious enjoyment as it happily accepts the gentle pats.

The video carried an emotional caption that read, “The one we share life with.” The creator also explained that Tutu had been battling bronchiolitis and said the family’s Golden Retrievers stayed close throughout his illness, always ready to comfort him with affection whenever he needed it.
