Golden Retriever’s Early Morning Plan Sends Mom Into Full Panic Mode

Last Updated on August 25, 2026 by Fumipets

The house is still quiet; the kids are asleep, and Mom has no interest in changing that. Willy, however, is already standing near the stairs and looking very interested in disturbing the peace. The Golden Retriever gets a firm “No, you’re not going to wake up the kids” from Mom, but his reaction in the video shared by @willygoose_thegolden is basically, “Yes, I am.”

Mom follows him to the stairs, whispers his name, tries to guide him back down, and keeps negotiating. Willy keeps climbing. By the end of the video, he has managed to wake both kids anyway.

Mom panics as Golden Retriever tries to wake up the kids early

Willy stands near the staircase while Mom films from the couch. She warns him not to wake the kids, and he looks back at her for a second before turning toward the stairs. Then he heads up, anyway. Mom follows and finds him sitting on a lower step. Since the kids’ room is nearby, she drops her voice and tries again.

“Willy, I said no.” The text from his point of view says, “I said yes.” Mom reaches out to guide him back downstairs, but Willy jumps onto a higher step. She keeps whispering, hoping he will finally give up on the plan. He does not.

The furry baby eventually heads farther up and lies near the top of the staircase, staring down at Mom. She tries one more time, but his expression suggests the discussion is futile. The text says, “Let me think about it…no.”

Mom takes another small step toward him. Willy moves too, and at that point, it is pretty clear the kids are going to be up any second now. The video cuts before the final outcome, then reveals that Willy did, in fact, make enough noise to wake both children.

Once awake, the kids happily scratch his neck and pet him. The clip has earned more than 7,800 likes, and the comments are full of people amused by Willy’s behavior. One viewer joked that his name is short for “Willhewakeupthekids.” Another described him as being in his “teenage dirtbag” phase.

This Golden Retriever may have been told no several times, but Mom never really had the upper hand in the video. Willy wanted his people awake, and he was determined to make that happen.
